Copper and Brass Sales Adds Plant Capacity

Copper and Brass Sales, a Division of ThyssenKrupp Materials NA, is supporting their strategic growth plans with added plant capacity in three of their locations. In Michigan, the company has bought a new 73,000 square foot facility in Saline, located outside of Ann Arbor. The facility will be a flat roll "Center of Excellence" and will house a new 60" wide Braner looping pit slitter along with leveling and shearing processing equipment. The Saline operation will complement the current Detroit plant facility which will focus on RBW, heavy plate and tube products, offering value added processing such as production cutting and tumbling, as well as tube and plate processing. The company expects to be operational in the new Saline facility by late spring.

Copper and Brass Sales has also grown their plant capacity in two facilities in their North Central Region. They moved to a new 23,000 square foot facility in Bloomington, Minnesota, outside of Minneapolis, and have installed a new Metal Saw capable of processing aluminum plate up through 6 inches thick. In their Milwaukee, Wisconsin plant, they have expanded from 37,000 square feet to 57,000 square feet and installed a new Tsune saw for aluminum and copper bar production cutting.

Commenting on the announcement, Mr. Frank G. Kevane, CEO of Copper and Brass Sales, stated, "We are committed to growth in these major markets, so we're investing now to support the customer base as they grow in the future. This is just one of many steps we're going to make to achieve our strategic plan. We're looking forward to the new opportunities that will arise from these expansions".
