ThyssenKrupp Materials NA to Open State-of-the-Art Semi-Finished Plastics Service Center in Yonkers, NY

AIN Plastics, a Division of ThyssenKrupp Materials NA, announced today that it will be relocating its semi-finished plastics distribution facility currently located in Mt. Vernon, NY, into a new state-of-the-art service center in Yonkers, NY.

AIN Plastics has successfully completed lease negotiations for the 50,000 square foot center, strategically located on I-87 (The New York Thruway) with easy access to both New York City and the surrounding Tri-State area, and less than five miles from the existing Mt. Vernon location.

The Yonkers service center, which will be equipped with a barcode inventory management system, is currently undergoing major renovations according to the principles of Lean Manufacturing and, once completed, will be one of the most modern semi-finished plastics distribution facilities in the industry.  According to John Shepherd, President of AIN Plastics Division, "“Metropolitan New York and the surrounding area is one of our key strategic markets.  With the continued support of our valued suppliers and the dedicated efforts of our employees, we are committed to grow our business in this region by investing in the new state-of-the-art service center, which will enhance our ability to provide the highest level of products and services to our broad customer base."”

The new service center in Yonkers is expected to be operational by December 2006.  Until then, the existing Mt. Vernon facility will continue to provide a complete range of products and services to the New York City and the Tri-State area customers.
