Industrial Services Unit of ThyssenKrupp Materials NA Opens New Logistics Center in Danville, Illinois

ThyssenKrupp Industrial Services NA, a business unit of ThyssenKrupp Materials NA, Inc., today announced the opening of a new logistics center in Danville, Illinois. The new 92,000 square foot facility is adjacent to the manufacturing operations of ThyssenKrupp Presta Danville, LLC, and Systrand Presta Engine Systems, LLC.

Under the terms of the agreement with ThyssenKrupp Presta Danville and Systrand Presta Engine Systems, ThyssenKrupp Industrial Services NA will provide a broad range of supply chain management services. The inventory management and internal and external logistics services will include the coordination of raw material flow from suppliers, tube cutting, sequencing, just-in-time delivery to the production line and dunnage management. Additionally, a special line of storage and packaging services will be provided to the ThyssenKrupp Crankshaft Co., LLC group, which also has production and distribution operations in Danville.

The operations at the ThyssenKrupp Industrial Services NA new logistics center have created 20 new jobs in addition to 15 transferred from ThyssenKrupp Presta and Systrand Presta.

The new relationship demonstrates a significant synergistic potential between the various business segments of ThyssenKrupp in North America. The three automotive components makers who ThyssenKrupp Industrial Services NA will support in Danville are members of the ThyssenKrupp Technologies group, a manufacturer of high-tech industrial installations, equipment and components. The automotive components manufactured in Danville include steering, camshafts, and crankshafts. ThyssenKrupp Industrial Services NA is a member of the ThyssenKrupp Services group, which is focused on supplying high-quality materials and production process support services to the manufacturing and processing sectors.
